Collierville Food Pantry
An on Going Ministry
The church continually collects the following items for the Pantry: soup, canned meat, beans, peanut butter, canned fruit and canned vegetables. Please leave your donations in the foyer of Agape Chapel on Sundays.
God's Global Barnyard At the Wednesday's Services during Lent (Feb. 22 to March 28, 2012) the offering will go toward the purchase of a variety of animals for families in need. Animals can make a world of difference by providing food to eat, fertilizer to grow crops, and offspring to sell on the market. Epiphany can help break the cycle of hunger and poverty for good. More information on the project can be found at elca.org.

About Jacob's Ladder
Jacob’s Ladder is a 501 (c) (3) Memphis charity organization pursuing a holistic revitalization strategy for the Beltline, a severely distressed inner-city neighborhood struggling with dilapidated housing, blight and crime. Their focus is building a network of trust among businesses, universities, residents and churches.
Just east of the Memphis Fairgrounds and across from the Children’s Museum and the Liberty Bowl lies the Beltline community whose population is approximately 2,800. Statistical data for the last ten years shows steady growth of the elderly and youth segments in the Beltline. Primary issues facing the youth are an acute lack of educational opportunities and no employment leading to a fast track of juvenile crime. The elderly struggle with decent housing and a safe, clean neighborhood free of blight and crime.
Since 2004, Jacob’s Ladder has been addressing the Beltline problems with a comprehensive strategy. They have built or repaired 30 houses for low income citizens (many of them for senior citizens), cleaned 25 blighted lots, worked with code enhancement to demolish 15 vacant buildings, reorganized a neighborhood watch and planted a neighborhood garden free to all of its residents. They have also opened two learning centers for youth and teens and operate two mini businesses providing part time employment for youth. Jacob’s Ladder volunteers have provided free home repairs for many of the elderly in the Beltline.
