We always need new volunteers to serve as Worship Servants! Training will be offered wherever needed for all positions. Please review the list and see what you may be interested in. July 2017 Worship Servant Schedule


We are most in need of Altar Guild members and Assistant Ministers at this time.

  • Assistant Minister - Leads intercessory prayers (prayers of the people), leads the psalm, leads several parts of the liturgy (some of which are sung, some of which are spoken), and holds the common cup chalice during communion. Assistant Minister Guidelines
  • Lector - Reads the first and second readings. These are emailed in advance.  Lector Guidelines
  • Greeter/Usher - Hand out bulletins (and hymnals when needed), welcome visitors and members, usher people up for communion, and collect the offering. Two-person team. Usher Guidelines
  • Communion Assistant - Holds the chalice for intinction during communion.
  • Acolyte - Assists the the pastor in the procession by lighting altar candles, special candles such as the Paschal candle, and the Advent wreath during Advent.  Acolyte Guidelines
  • Crucifer - Carries the cross during the procession (opening hymn) and recession (sending/closing hymn).

  • Baker - Bakes the communion bread. A simple recipe is provided.
  • Communion Linens - Takes the white communion linens home to be laundered after the service and returns them the following Sunday. Communion Linens Guidelines
  • Coffee Hour - Provides and sets up the goodies and coffee for the post-service coffee fellowship. Also cleans up after fellowship. The serving table is set up prior to the worship service and the refreshments and coffee are laid out following communion to be ready in time for fellowship. Coffee Host Guidelines
  • Altar Guild - Prepare the chapel/sanctuary for worship, including laying out the linens for the "table" (altar) and the lectern (podium for readings). Also assists in tear down after the worship service. Needs to arrive by 10:00am. This is open to both men and women.
  • Council Host - A member of the church council who is available to answer questions, especially for visitors but also for members, before and after the service, and assists with counting the weekly offerings after worship.
